PURPOSE:To increase the productivity of a housing for an air pump to a great extent, by making the main body of a housing by cutting a deformed, elongated pipe into a proper length, and attaching a front cover and a rear cover to the opposite ends of the main body of the housing. CONSTITUTION:A housing of an air pump is constituted by a main body 2 and a front cover 3 and a rear cover 4 attached to the opposite ends of the main body 2 of the housing. A deformed, elongated pipe for constituting the main body 2 of the housing is formed with a rotor incorporating space 5 at its central portion and a suction and a discharge spaces 10, 11 at the opposite end porions, and it is obtained by drawing or extruding a material such as aluminum. Thus, since the main body 2 of the housing can be obtained simply by cutting an elongated pipe into a proper length, productivity of the main body 2 of the housing can be increased to a great extent. |
