<p>The cutting layout consists of a machine bed on which the workpiece is mounted, and a ram which carries out a periodic vertical up and down movement in relation to the bed. A cutting blade is mounted on the ram, and a workpiece clamping arrangement is mounted on the bed. The operating mechanism for the clamp which is actuated during the downward stroke of the ram. There is a slide arrangement which carries a slitting blade, a cam follower which is mounted on the slide arrangement and a curved guide which extends vertically downward. The cam follower engages with this guide and pushes the slitting blade across the upper part of the workpiece.</p> |
