The invention relates to an ink fountain for printing machines having an adjustable colorimeter. The aim of the invention is to develop an ink fountain in such a way that the printing quality is decisively improved by preventing uncontrollably falsified colorimeter settings. Furthermore, the number of spoiled sheets in proof printing and production printing is to be reduced. The object on which the invention is based is to provide an ink fountain, by which a drastic minimisation of the force effects occurring in the ink fountain, along with an increase in the service life of the colorimeter and of a device for reducing damage to the colorimeter and/or ink ductor, is brought about by an optimum design and arrangement of the colorimeter in interaction with the ink ductor. For this, the colorimeter has a negative cutting angle, the functional faces of the colorimeter having a rounding radius of 0.05-0.3 mm in the direction of the ink ductor. <IMAGE>
