PURPOSE:To enable the tip of steel sheet to be taken into a high speed automatic coiling with a simple construction, by rotating a coiling drum, movable in the direction parallel to the running direction of a ultrathin metallic sheet, by a frictional force of a driving roll, and blowing air to the running direction of the sheet. CONSTITUTION:A coiling drum 7 is brought into contact with a driving roll 19 by actuating a hydraulic cylinder 4 to be rotated anticlockwise by the frictional torque, and compressed air is jetted from each nozzle 9a, 9b, 9c, and 9d. A ultrathin metallic sheet M is pinched and fed into a guide plate 20 by a pinch rolls 23, and is sent to the drum 7 side by a blowing press. caused by a blowing nozzle 9c and then is pressed against the roll 7 by a pressing roll 15. The tip side of the sheet M is rotated together with the drum 7 and is sent to the roll 15 side through a guide plate 8 by the blowing press. caused by nozzles 9b, 9a, and 9d to finish a coiling of the 1st one turn.
