Residual pressure device on a gas cylinder valve

The residual pressure device on a gas cylinder valve prevents soiling of the interiors of gas cylinders and of their contents, by maintaining a residual pressure during emptying to prevent emptying of the entire contents. This prevents the penetration of contaminating foreign gases from the atmosphere. It must be possible to use the residual pressure device on all gas cylinder valves, even those with very small threaded connections. It contains a spring-loaded non-return valve for removing gas in a tubular body which is screwed to the gas cylinder valve. A further non-return valve is connected in parallel to the latter valve and is connected to the same gas duct in the tubular body. The second non-return valve closes when acted upon by superatmospheric pressure from the inside and is opened by superatmospheric pressure from the outside. It takes the form of a tube valve with a valve tube above a bore which is arranged in the tubular body at right angles to the gas duct. The residual pressure device is suitable for general use with gas cylinders, especially for valuable or pure gases.
