PURPOSE:To realize a gas electric-discharge panel which has a function of shifting discharge spots, and has a panel structure owing to which any mis-discharge which might be caused accidentally by the omnipresence of unusual charges is prevented. CONSTITUTION:The inner wall of a glass base plate 2, which is one of opposed glass base plates provided with a gas electric-discharge space 1 formed between them, is provided with two Y-side shift-electrode groups y1i and y2i which are connected to two- phase bus-bars Y1 and Y2 alternately through parallel placed lead conductors, and which are covered with a dielectric layer 3 and a surface MgO layer 4. On the other hand, the inner wall of the other glass base plate 5 is provided with two X-side shift- electrode groups x1j and x2j which are connected to different two-phase bus-bars X1 and X2 alternately through parallel placed lead conductors, and which are covered with a dielectric layer 6 and a surface MgO layer 7. When charge-leak layers 11W and 11E are provided on the dielectric layers 3 and 6 so that the charge-leak layers 11W and 11E are near both end cells of the shift channels, wall charges which are not necessary for shift discharge and exist over parts of the dielecrric layers corresponding to the above both end cells rapidly leak through the charge-like layers 11W and 11E. As a result, any unusual accumulation of charges which might cause mis-discharge is prevented. |
