Sensor for detecting the vibrations occurring during knocking of an internal-combustion engine

A sensor is proposed which is to be used with the aid of a piezoelectric element to detect the vibration occurring during knocking of an internal-combustion engine, and in which a flexural (bending) vibrator made from an elastic material is provided which transmits its vibrations to fixed piezoelectric elements. The flexural vibrator is connected permanently to the internal-combustion engine at one end via the piezoelectric elements and aligned transversely to the direction of vibration of the part of the internal-combustion engine. <IMAGE>
