The invention relates to a disc brake, in particular for motor vehicles, in which, to provide nonmetallic corrosion protection, ceramic or enamel-type coatings are provided on the guide surfaces of the brake-pad backplates or on the supporting surfaces of the brake calliper or, where special slide blocks are provided, on both sides of these. If required, the slide blocks can be composed completely of ceramic material. The rear sides of the backplates too can be coated with ceramic material. If special intermediate plates are provided between the rear side of the backplate and the brake piston, they can be coated with ceramic material on both sides or be composed completely of this material.
