The aims are to render the filter operation more time-saving and simpler in terms of manipulation, to reduce the number of accessory filters and to render the photographic equipment lighter and more compact. The design of an accessory filter unit in which a filter film with all the filter colours can be adjusted by means of two take-up spools in such a way that the desired filter colour comes between two thin glasses in front of the camera lens. The filter film is produced such that a colour occurs in different succeeding filter strengths and only then is succeeded by the next colour. The accessory filter unit is screwed onto the camera lens and can remain locked there. Filter colour and sequential numbers can be monitored by means of a scale and viewing window. The invention can be used as an accessory part for photographic equipment. <IMAGE>
