SURGE TANK DEVICE FOR FUEL INJECTION-TYPE SPARK IGNITION INTERNAL-COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE:To improve injection fuel atomization efficiency, of an internal-combustion engine, by a system in which the jet stream of bypass air absorbed into the small chamber installed in the surge tank provides kinetic energy to the fuel particles forced out of the fuel injection nozzle. CONSTITUTION:The surge tank 12 is provided with the fuel injection valve 10. The surge tank body 14 has the partition 22 which extends inwards to separate the small chamber 24 from the surge tank body 14. The small chamber 24 is provided with the inlet opening 32 that takes in bypass air and the outlet opening 30 that lets out bypass air. The nozzle 28 on the fuel injection valve 10 is installed on the outlet opening 30 so that fuel atomization may be promoted through bypass air.
