The invention relates to a dispensing container for the apportioned delivery of a product (11), in particular a pasty product, having a cylinder (12) which receives said product and in which a plunger (19) is displaceable in stages, relative to the cylinder, in the direction of a discharge aperture (18) by means of a handle (15) located there, but, in the opposite direction, can be fixed on the inside wall (23) of the cylinder by means of a ratchet brake tongue spring (44), the cylinder being mounted so as to be longitudinally displaceable counter to the restoring spring effect (spring 28) in a housing container (32) which is firmly connected to a plunger guide rod (41), relative to which housing container the plunger (19) can be supported by means of the ratchet brake (41) such that, in the case of a pressure on the cylinder causing a portion to be discharged, the plunger is fixed on the plunger guide rod and, during the return stroke of the cylinder, the plunger is fixed thereon in a clamping manner.
