In a snap-on rotary closure having a cap which can be fitted onto a container neck and is provided on its inside wall with catch lugs for engagement with a catch bead on the container neck and with holding lugs arranged above the catch lugs for a closure membrane, at least a part of the holding lugs is formed by thin-walled holding webs provided in each case with a support projection for the membrane, and an annular support rib extending with spacing from the wall of the container neck is formed on the cap bottom, as a result of which a firm seat of the cap on the container neck and a secure sealed closure are guaranteed.
