<p>A process is provided to produce a novel photographic base by applying an aqueous coating composition containing aluminum oxide particles to at least one surface of a substrate, drying the coated substrate, applying a molten film of a polyolefin over at least one of the coated surfaces of the coated substrate, adhering the polyolefin to the coated surface, and cooling the polyolefin film to a temperature below the melt point of the polyolefin. The photographic base so produced may be further treated by applying a coating of a light sensitive silver halide emulsion to one side of the photographic base paper and drying the emulsion coated paper.</p> |
