PURPOSE:To elevate color reproducibility, by calculating not only gradation but also a correction value of color from color separation density of an original, and outputting it after it has been converted to a format suitable for a scanning condition setting system of a color scanner. CONSTITUTION:A rotary drum 12 which is capable of placing plural sheets of originals 10 on its cylindrical surface is borne by a rotary shaft 16 rotated and driven by a driving device 14. Subsequently, a head 18 runs in accordance with a command signal from a processor 36, sub-scans the original 10, the drum 12 rotates and main-scans, and the whole surface of the orignal 10 is scanned by a beam 19. As a result, electric signals 28R, 28G and 28B showing the density of color components obtained by color-separating a reflection component on the surface of the original 10 of the beam 19 are converted to digital values by A/D converters 34R, 34G and 34B, and are stored in a memory 38 by the processor 36 together with a luminance signal obtained by processing these signals. |
