PURPOSE:To sweep an air preheater prior to the starting of a boiler without providing a soot blower for the air preheater with a special apparatus such as an air blower or the like, by feeding steam from another boiler. CONSTITUTION:A control box 23 closes all valves 14, 15, 16, 22 prior to the starting of the boiler 1 and opens a valve 20. Thus, the steam of the boiler 17 is fed to the soot blower 9 to sweep the air preheater 5. When the sweeping of the air preheater 5 is completed, the valve 20 is opened, and the boiler 1 is energized. If it is required that a heat transfer pipe group in the boiler should be sweped during the operation of the boiler 1, the valve of a piping for feeding steam to the particular soot blower is opened, and the particular part is sweped by the steam of its own boiler. Thus the air preheater can be sweped prior to the starting of the boiler without arranging a special apparatus such as an air blower, etc. |
