PURPOSE:To manufacture a cylindrical filter having excellent strength by the procedure in which a thermal shrinking porous tube of polytetrafluoroethylene, etc., is contracted by heating at its one end and then the contracted portion is melted by heating. CONSTITUTION:One end of a thermal shrinking porous tube of polytetrafluoroethylene, polypropylene, polyethylene resin, etc., is contracted by heating so as to make the tube diameter small and also to make its thickness great, and then the contracted portion is melted by heating to obtain a cylindrical filter having a great mechanical strength and a small deformity. The filter can collect and remove fine particles when being used in the filtration of gases and liquids with higher efficiency and also can be easily built in apparatus. |
