PURPOSE:To contrive to enhance the efficiency of a compressor, by a method wherein a plurality of shielding plates are placed at the upper surface of a discharge muffler or a discharge pipe loop part so that heat exchange hardly occurs between an intake gas and high-temperature parts such as a discharge pipe, the discharge mufller and a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION:The discharge muffler 9 or the discharge pipe loop part 10b is provided below an opening of a suction pipe 4, and a plurality of shielding plates 14, 15 are placed at the upper surface of the muffler 9 or the loop part 10b. With this construction, a major portion of the intake gas introduced at a low temperature into the interior space 5 of an enclosure 1 through the suction pipe 4 is sucked into a suction port 7 of a compressing element 2 through a suction hole 6a of a motor cover 6 without any heat exchange with high-temperature parts such as the loop part 10b of the discharge pipe 10, the discharge muffler 9 and the cylinder head 8 which are shielded from the gas by the shielding plates 14, 15. Accordingly, overheating of the intake gas is reduced and the specific volume is reduced, so that the weight of the gas circulated is increased and volumetric efficiency is enhanced. |
