NON-RIGID VINYL CHLORIDE SOUNDPROOFING SHEET AND BOARD

PURPOSE:To provide a soundproofing sheet which is inexpensive and has excellent characteristics, by blending a plasticizer and a specified iron ore powder with a vinyl chloride resin. CONSTITUTION:Iron ore powder satisfying relationshipsIand II[wherein x(cm<2>/g) is a Blaine index and y(ml/100g) is oil absorption]is used. 50- 150pts.wt. plasticizer such as tricresyl phosphate or chlorinated paraffin and 400-1,500pts.wt. iron ore powder are blended with 100pts.wt. vinyl chloride resin. The resulting compsn. is extruded into a non-rigid vinyl chloride soundproofing sheet having a surface density of 2.4kg/m<2> or above. When said soundproofing sheet having a thickness of 0.5mm. or above is combined with a steel sheet having a thickness of 0.8mm. or below, there can be obtd. a soundproofing board having excellent strength and soundproofness and suitable for use as a household material, a building material, etc.
