PURPOSE:To have a large water head by arranging an underwater cable at the partition wall, which is installed between the suction and discharge parts of an underwater pump, thereby enlarging the diameter of the impeller of this pump. CONSTITUTION:An underwater cable 8 to connect an underwater motor 4 with the power source on land is arranged at the partition wall 7, which is installed between the suction and discharge parts of an underwater pump. Thereby an impeller with larger diameter than conventional type can be installed, that will assure a higher water head. This arrangement has better effect on an underwater pump with smaller diameter - for example, an underwater pump with 50mm. diameter can have an impeller with a diameter approx. 1.3 times as large as a conventional type underwater pump and its water head can be approx. 1.7 times as high as a conventional one. Thereby the number of steps of the impeller to give the same water head can be reduced, which assures a reduced manufacturing cost. |
