PURPOSE:To prevent the lowering of commutating capacity in the case when line voltage changes by a method wherein reactors containing cores are used which have characteristics varying an inductance value in response to the variation of currents as reactors for commutation. CONSTITUTION:An AC power source 1 is applied to a converter 2, the output is passed through a smoothing circuit 3, and connected to the DC input side of an inverse inverting circuit consisting of main thyristors S1-S4, and AC power is supplied to load 4. Auxiliary thyristors Sa1-Sa4 for commutation are mounted while capacitors C1, C2 for commutation among the main thyristors S1-S4 and reactors L1, L2 for commutation consisting of reactors containing cores varying an inductance value in response to the variation of currents are connected. Thus, even when the currents of a commutation circuit vary, the variation can be compensated by the reactors L1, L2, and the lowering of commutating capacity is prevented while the rating of parts for the commutation circuit can be reduced. |
