The hospital trolley has a chassis supported on a pair of bearing wheels (22) and stabilising castors (29). The chassis supports the patient receiving surface (2) on a set of vertically adjustable jacks (3). The patient support frame can also move laterally on extensible rails (10) which fit telescopically within openings in the frame. Stabilising feet extend laterally from the sides of the trolley to support the frame as it moves sideways w.r.t. the chassis. An operating handle is positioned at one end of the trolley to manoeuvre it.
