PURPOSE:To obtain blank materials and parts of high quality and dimensional accuracy and intricate shapes easily and quickly, by molding the powder of Ti and Ni compounded in accordance with alloy compsn. by a hot pressing method. CONSTITUTION:In the case of, for example, a TiNi shape memory alloy, Ti and Ni powders having about >=100 mesh powder grain sizes are compounded at 43-46% Ti and 54-57% Ni weight ratios of the component compsn. hsowing thermoelastic type martensite transformation. The raw material powder 1 agitated and mixed uniformly with these is packed in the cavity enclosed by a die 2 and a molding vessel 3, and the inside of the vessel 5 is put in an inert or reducing atmosphere or in a vacuum and these are heated with a heater 4 and is molded by a hot press. The blank materials and parts of the memory alloy of superior properties having the arbitrary shape applied to the die 2 and the vessel 3 are obtained. |
