PURPOSE:To obtain a humidity measuring element being capable of applying to an automatic control instrument etc. easily and having a superior characteristic, by fetching out the variation extent of dimensions of the humidity measuring element as an electric signal by using a magnetic effect element. CONSTITUTION:A thread-like himidity sensitive body 1 consisting of an organic material extended and contracting by moisture absorption or dehumidification such as hair or nylon filament is stretched supporting one end by a spring 2 and a magnet 3 generating a magnetic field at its connecting part is fixed. Further, when the body 1 is extended or contracted by the moisture absorption or dehumidification, the magnet 3 is displaced with it in a body and the magnetic field acting on a magnetic sensor 4 is varied and then, the resistance of the sensor 4 is varied. An electric current is supplied to this sensor 4 from an electric power source and the humidity detected by the body 1 is obtained as an electric output signal. Hereby, the value of the humidity is found as the electric signal and it is used for a detection element for a control circuit of an automatic control instrument etc. |
