<p>A tube is joined at one of its ends to two flat, twisted bars such that they define the maximum span of the instrument, and the thus formed assembly constitutes the chassis. Reinforcing elements are provided at the string attachment points, bridge, machne heads and a tensioning rod within the tube. These elements are placed in a mould which comprises all of the required shapes for the instrument. The mould is then filled to obtain the complete body section. Cavities are provided to receve a microphone, switches, potentiometers and jack sockets. Provson is also made to receive an electronic circuit and its battery power supply. After performing the required machinery operations, a plate is added to close the cavities and the instrument is strung. The process allows several dfferent models of the instrument to be made from a common chassis.</p> |
