<p>The system converts front-wheel drive cars to four-wheel drive. It uses conventional 'citroen' RTM components assembled together in a separate cylindrical housing, which is supported by a mounting (7). The housing receives output shaft ferrules (6) and carries a box (1A) which contains a modified 'citroen' RTM gear selection fork (1D). The fork actuates a synchromesh gear (2) which engages a planetary gear wheel (3), connected to one of the output shafts (4). The latter pass through the ferrules supported in the housing by ball bearings (5). They are connected to drive shafts (4A) via universal joints (4B).</p> |
