PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient recording density even if recording voltage is low, its application time is short, and a moving speed of a recording material is reduced by a specified extent, by inserting a nonlinear resistance circuit increasing in resistance when a recording electrode side becomes higher in voltage than a circuit for applying recording voltage, such as an image signal amplifier, between said circuit and said electrode, and by preventing discharging of the charge of toner chains when the recording voltage is turned off. CONSTITUTION:An image signal amplifier 13 converts an image signal (a) into recording voltage, and its output is fed through a nonlinear resistance element 14, such as diodes, transistor, and a discharge tube, to a recording electrode 8, thus permitting discharge to be prevented, so the charge held on particles at the tips of toner chains to remain continuously, and transfer of the toner particles to be continued by this charge even after the recording voltage has been turned off. |
