PURPOSE:To obtain a highly efficient roller clutch by providing a pigeon tail-shaped groove on the periphery of a reel shaft in a tangential direction at a right angle to the shaft to store a small roller and by releasing the restriction of core pipe with a roller moving through the groove by the friction against the core pipe stored in the shaft. CONSTITUTION:A groove 2 having a pigen tail-shaped section is provided in various places on the periphery surface of a reel 1 in a tangential direction at a right angle to the shaft of the reel 1. A small roller 3 is fitted into the groove 2. A projection 5 is provided so as to prevent the small roller 3 from coming off. At the same time, a stopper 8 is installed so as to restrict the rolling distance. A core pipe C is fitted ove the periphery surface of the reel shaft 1. The core pipe C is rotated in the drection of winding in or winding out. With this action, the small roller 3 is rotated by the friction between the core pipe C and the small roller 3 and is rolled to deep and shallow parts in the groove 2 along a rail 7. When the roller 3 comes to the shallow part, the core pipe C is restricted by the roller 3, while the core pipe is released from its restriction when the roller 3 moves to the deep part. With this simple construction, the capacity of roller clutch can be improved. |
