<p>Coating mixt. is prepd. contg. a liq. carrier, plus a pigment, dye, or a metal salt forming a pigment. The mixt. is applied to the surface of concrete and dried or polymerised. The mixt. impregnates the surface of the concrete, as it is retained in microfissures, pores and/or crevices in the surface. One pref. coating mixt. is a pigment suspended in water, or in a water-repellent impregnating liq. Another pref. coating mixt. consists of a dye dissolved in water or in a solvent penetrating into the concrete. The dye may be in soln. in a hardener based on a silicate or fluorosilicate. The metal salt may be dissolved in a liq. contg. an anti-staining agent. The coating is transparent, so the surface of the concrete participates in the decorative effect.</p> |
