The invention relates to a handle strip which is constructed entirely or partially as a switching strip for an apparatus in whose interior utensils are cleaned by means of water jets. The handle strip is arranged on the upper part of the door of the body. It can be divided on the basis of functions. The handle strip or its subdivisions transmit the switching movements to an electrical switch. The functions can be activated by pulling on the handle strip or by pushing against it. The switching activation section of the handle strip carries function symbols.
