According to the invention, the finger-hole dial of a rotary dial device is transformed in such a way that it has a stop mechanism which springs forward from the underside of the finger-hole dial and meets a finger stop if the user of the telephone set tries to rotate the finger hole allocated to the "0" digit beyond the finger stop. The finger stop is designed together with the finger-hole dial for a restricted movement and is restricted in its movement by fixed-position stop pieces so that, due to the contact of the stop mechanism with the finger stop, the generation of undesired separate dial pulses is prevented which might otherwise act as unmonitored pulses, triggering undesired functions of the telephone network system.
