摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an electrode which has a sufficient corrosion resistance and an excellent polarizing performance by using a partly graphitized active carbon as a catalyst carrier. CONSTITUTION:Active carbon is obtained by sintering wood flour, coconut shell, pitch or the like at 600-700 deg.C. Graphite is obtained by sintering thus obtained active carbon at around 8,000 deg.C. However, when the above active carbon is sintered at 2,000 deg.C, partly graphitized active carbon is obtained. In this invension, 10g of graphitized active carbon prepared by sintering active carbon at 1,900 deg.C is added with 20g of silver nitrate, and the mixture is reduced with hydrogen so as to obtain graphitized active carbon catalyst containing silver. After that, thus obtained catalyst is added with 6g of polytetrafluoroethylene, the mixture is formed into a sheet, and the sheet is subjected to heat treatment at 860 deg.C so as to make an electrode.
