PURPOSE:To speed up ''Kana'' (Japanese syllabary) to ''Kanji'' (Chinese character) conversion by retrieving a dictionary for unit words in every inputted ''Kana'' character code. CONSTITUTION:A ''Kana'' to ''Kanji'' converting device 3 inputs time series of ''Kana'' character codes outputted from a character input device 1 and converts the inputted ''Kana'' character code string into a ''Kanji''-''Kana'' mixed character code string to output the converted code string. At the conversion, the longest unit word included in the inputted ''Kana'' character code string is requested to a unit word information storing device 2 through a signal line 2002 and the corresponding unit word information is sent through the same signal line 2002. The longest unit word is converted into ''Kanji''-''Kana'' mixed character string code by using ''Kanji''-''Kana'' mixing declaration in the unit word information. The remaining ''Kana'' character codes in the inputted ''Kana'' character code string are applied to a grammer test by grammar information such as the parts of speech based upon property information in the unit word information and then outputted as they are. |
