PURPOSE:To separate characters by extracting the position of characers after preliminary processing of a drawing in which closed loop figures, line figures and characters are mixed, black painting the closed loops, separating into closed loop figures and line figures, and calculating the difference from an original drawing. CONSTITUTION:As preliminary processing of a drawing in which closed loop figures, line figures and characters are mixed, thinning, removing of unnecessary terminal points are made and intersecting points and terminal points are extracted. Next, as character position extracting process, removing of terminal points, black painting of small closed loops, extraction of intersecting points and terminal points and removing of terminal points are performed. Then, after black painting large closed loops (symbols), separation is made to obtain line figures and closed loop figures. Characrers are separated by calculating the difference between the separated figures and original figures. By this way, original figures are separated into closed loop figures, line figures and characters and computer processing is made easy. |
