The invention relates to a femoral hip endoprosthesis comprising a stem to be inserted in the medullary cavity of the femur, a support plate terminating the stem proximally and a neck portion starting from the support plate. The lower surface of the support plate intended to rest upon the resection surface on the femur has means for the positive interaction with the bone, the upper surface of which means partially extends at an angle relative to the principal direction of the lower surface. In order to enhance the security of the prosthesis against lateral movements relative to the bone it is provided, according to the invention, that the lower side of the support plates has extensive surface parts which include an acute angle with the direction of the neck part towards proximal/medial and whose negative shape is determined by approximately straight, ventrally-dorsally freely extending generators or whose negative shape is a proximally exposed surface of revolution. These features permit easy and accurate adaptation of the bone resection surface to the shape of the lower side of the support plate.
