An inner chucking device for machine tools, by means of which a cylindrical workpiece, which has an axial bore, can be clamped to the circumferential surface of the workpiece bore. The chucking device includes a chuck (3a) with a guide section (3b), which can be accommodated in the axial bore of the workpiece (10), which it guides and centres, and a plurality of radial projections (3c). Each projection (3c) is sufficiently high for a circle in contact with the outsides of the projections (3c) to have a diameter which is at least 0.02 mm larger than the inside diameter of the workpiece (10). <IMAGE>
