The safety device is inserted into the conveying line between a tanker and a container or between two containers, and comprises a shut-off device (6), a pressure sensor (5) inserted in the container and acted upon by the delivery flow and a sieve (7) for protecting the shut-off device against foreign bodies. The shut-off device has a closing flap (8) which is constantly held in its closed position by a spring (12). During the filling process, the closing flap (8) can be held in the open position by an electromagnet (15). When a critical pressure occurs (which is established by the sensor (5)), the feed of current to the electromagnet (15) is interrupted and, as a result, the spring (12) brings the closing flap (8) into its blocking position. <IMAGE>
