PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst for production of methacrylic acid in high yields by mixing a soln. of a compd. contg. catalytic component elements at specific ratios with org. reducing materials then subjecting these to a heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:Org. reducing materials such as oxycarboxylic acids, glycols and the like are mixed with the soln. or slurry prepd. by mixing catalytic component elements to Mo:P:Ca:V:Cu:As:X:Y (where X=K and/or Cs, Y=Ta, B, etc.)=12:0.5-2:0.005-3:0.01-2:0.01-2:0.01-2:0.005-3:0.001-5, after which the mixture is heat-treated at 100-300 deg.C. The resultant catalyst has a long life, and produces methacrylic acid at relatively low temps. |
