Ball tracking display for bowling game - obtains ball path from sequence in which skittles fall

The display is used to indicate the point at which the ball strikes the skittles (1-9) and the path of the ball immediately prior to this. The sequence in which the skittles fall over is measured and the information is used to determine the path of the ball on the principle that the skittles (1-9) hit directly by the ball will fall first, the obtained path being displayed. The ball passes through three light barriers (11-14; 13-16) immediately before impact with the skittles (1-9) with its path obtained from the timing with which each barrier is broken. This information together with that relating to the sequence in which the skittles fall fed to a microprocessor controlling the display.
