The braking or rotating appliance has a tubular or cylindrical oven (2) which is surrounded by an electrical heating appts. The door (3) is arranged to slide in and out like a drawer, it is supported by rods (4) at the bottom, running on rollers (6,7). They may consist of small fixed rollers (6) and large rollers (7) on the rods, engaging with guide rails (5). - The face of the door (3) is vertical. There is a carrier plate (13) arranged on the rear face of the door. It is sufficiently stiff to resist bending, and has a curved-over portion (14) at the top, hooking into the door. There are brackets (10) on the carrier plate, which can support trays (8) carrying the bread or other articles to be baked.
