The invention relates to an X-ray device having a radiator and a generator for generating tube voltage, and having a photoconductor, arranged behind a transirradiated object, as radiation detector for electro-radiographical image recording. It is the aim and the object of the invention to provide a mobile, low-mass X-ray device which can be manipulated in the simplest way, and both permits the production of X-ray images of the most varied objects in the shortest time and ensures good image quality in conjunction with a large object size. It is the essence of the invention that aluminium supplementary filters of varying thickness are optionally introduced between the radiator and object with the aim of adjusting the quantum energy of the X-ray radiation absorbed by the radiation detector as a function of the focus/detector separation and the object thickness and in conjunction with a constant tube voltage. A pulse generator preferably serves to generate the tube voltage.
