PURPOSE:To selectively display the entire map or a part of it arbitrarily by the operation of a keyboard and to perform correspondig voice guide, by dividing the map of a specified region into blocks, storing them into cassette tape and the like, and loading them when they are needed. CONSTITUTION:The cassette tape, in which the menu map including the region that is planned to be covered, is reproduced by a recorder 7. As the reproduction proceeds, the data of the menu part is loaded, and the recorded voice contents are outputted from a speaker 11. When the data reading of the menu part is finished, a CPU1 stops the speaker 7, makes the tape to be rewound, and requests the driver to operate the keyboard 8 by using CRT6. When the key is operated, the CPU1 makes the specified map in the tape to be read out, computes the running distance of the vehicle based on the data from a detector 9, and performs the sight seeing guide by the picture and the voice. |
