In order to guide a container, which is filled with bulk material such as earth excavated from a trench and can be moved on a rolling track, to the trench in a manner which is secured against undesirable movements, pushing apparatuses on which the container rests are provided on a rolling track. By means of mechanical drives, the pushing apparatuses can be moved to the trench which is to be filled, together with the container, progressively secured against undesirable movement. The pushing apparatuses each have a front and a rear trolley with associated inhibitory switchgear, which can be actuated by levers and are adjustable relative to each other on rolling tracks.
