In order that, in the building industry, bars with a thread-type profiling, for example tensioning members or reinforcing bars, in concrete structures to be joined together can be connected to one another, in a simple manner and without special machining of the bar ends, by means of a connecting sleeve having a continuous internal thread, the invention provides a connecting sleeve (3) which can be screwed to two sleeves (1, 2), of which each is provided with an internal thread (4), permitting it to be screwed onto one of the bars (S1, S2) to be connected, and with an external thread (7, 8) corresponding to the internal thread (9) of the connecting sleeve (3). As a result, two bars can be connected to one another in a particularly simple and favourable manner, it also being possible for large tensile forces to be transferred. <IMAGE>
