PURPOSE:To remove the deposit on a heat-acting face for the saving of energy by a method in which a forced recording quiescent time is given during the recording process, and after the lapse of the quiescent time, a drive signal is applied to an electricity-heat converter to generated heat energy in the heat- acting face. CONSTITUTION:In a recording head 201, the detection of the speed of liquid droplets is made by two sets of detection means consisting of LED arrays 205a and 206a provided in mutually facing manner in such a way as to put between two slits 204a and 204b provided in parallel on a slit plate 203 and light-receiving CCD line photo sensors 205b and 206b. When the speed of liquid droplets is slower beyond an allowable range than in the usual case, the recording operation of the recording head 201 is stopped, a pulse signal to drive an electricity- heat converter is given after the laps of a certain time, anf the deposit on the heat-acting face is discharged from the liquid path in the recording head. |
