PURPOSE:To effectively utilize exhaust heat, by both completely purifying exhaust gas through a multi-stage catalyzer and obtaining heat from high temperature exhaust. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas from an engine flows through pipes 3, 4 to enter a catalytic reactor and mostly flows in through a catalyzer 5, and is inverted in a chamber 16 to flow again in the catalyzer 5 and enter a catalyzer 6 in the next stage. And a part of the exhaust from the pipe 4 flows in the catalyzer 6 from a gap 17, between the pipe and the catalyzer 5, and is mixed with the exhaust flowing two times in the preceding catalyzer 5. The exhaust further flows in through a catalyzer 7 and is completely purified, and then discharged from an outlet 15 through a heat exchanger 14. A cooling water layer 11 is provided around the periphery of the catalyzer reactor through a heat insulating layer 10, and cooling water, fed from an inlet 12, collects exhaust heat in the heat exchanger 14, and is heated and fed from an outlet 13 for various use. |
