<p>A method and apparatus for recovering light non-ferrous metal containers from a collection of trash includes depositing the trash in an inlet hopper 18 to conveyor means 20, suction device 25 extracting light materials such as paper and plastics and magnetic means 22 separating ferrous from non-ferrous material, the latter being pneumatically conveyed via duct 26 to crusher 30 and weighing hopper 32, compensation being issued in response to the weight of the separated containers which are then deposited in pneumatic conveyor 36 and stored in an overhead compartment 16 for subsequent collection and transportation. <IMAGE></p> |
