PURPOSE:To improve the quality of image under lower recording voltage by a method in which paired electrodes are provided in a nozzle and a voltage according to image signals is applied between the paired electrodes to raise a dielectric ink up to the tip of the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:The walls 2a and 2b of a nozzle 2 are provided with paired nearly parallel plate type electrodes 5a and 5b. The nozzle 2 is turned almost vertically, and its lower end is connected to an ink trap 3 where the surface 4 of ink is always kept constant controllably. In printing, a switch 7 is turned ON, as shown by broken line, and a voltage is applied between the paired electrodes 5a and 5b, whereupon owing to the action of Coulomb's force from the electrodes 5a and 5b on the dielectric ink 1, the height 12 of the surface of ink 1 in the nozzle 2 is raised up to the position H2 and thereby a recording is made on a recording paper 8. |
