MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

A magnetic recording and reproducing device comprising two video tape recording and reproducing parts, each of which has a tape running system which passes over a rotatable head drum and over a control head. Each tape is separately driven by a capstan which moves the tape in either longitudinal direction over a control head in the tape path of each tape which provides means in connection with which means is provided for recording of VITC signal and a color bar on each tape. Control means is provided for transporting the tapes backward and forward in a selected time interval. The video tape recording and reproducing parts are alternately operated in every one field of the video signal. The tape control system employs an address signal inserted in a video signal so as to transport the tape rapidly and accurately to a predetermined position.
