PURPOSE:To prevent any fluorescent lamp for different emission color to be mistaken during its manufacturing process by facilitating the discrimination between materials by coloring a coating phosphor liquid by means of an organic dye which is completely decomposed away during the sintering process. CONSTITUTION:In preparing either a phosphor suspension of butyl acetate or a water-soluble phosphor suspension, a small amount of an organic dye soluble in the above suspension is added to the above suspension. When the phosphor suspension colored with the organic dye is applied to the inner wall of a glass tube, the suspension liquid applied to the inner wall of the tube is colored after being dried. Since the tube is heated to 600 deg.C during the sintering process of a fluorescent lamp, the orgainc dye which is either water soluble or soluble in an orgainc solvent can be scattered away from the phosphor film. As a result, no adverse effect is caused on the manufactured fluorescent lamp is not different from the conventional lamp containing no organic dyes. |
