PURPOSE:To obtain a plasma displayer which is useful as a bargraph display panel, has a scanning function, and can realize multicolor display which cannot be realized by any other display unit. CONSTITUTION:Many cathodes 2 (K1, K2,...), many anodes 3 (A1, A2...), a reset electrode 4 (R), a pair of keep-alive electrodes 5, a cathod two-phase connection 200 connecting every other cathode 2 to a cathode terminal 21, and an anode two-phase connection 300 connecting every other anode 3 to an anode terminal 31 are provided on the same plane. Phosphors 10 emitting green, red, yellow and the like and used for nulticolor display are applied to parts of a surface plate 9 and a base plate 1 which face the discharge spaces formed between the cathodes 2 and the anodes 3. The operation of thus constituted panel is carried out by shifting electric discharge produced between the reset electrode 4 (R) and a cathode (K1) to a required position, in the order of R-K1 K1-A1 A1- K2 K2-A2 A2-K3..., according to input signals applied between cathod terminals 20 and 21 and anode terminals 30 and 31 by, for example, subjecting the cathodes 2 and the anodes 3 to two-phase connections. |
